Paul Van Dyk @ 1015 Folsom

February 18, 2006 on 8:35 pm | In ad hoc |

Paul Van Dyk played 1015 Folsom last night. It was a pretty awsome set. He came on in the main room around 1am and spun until around 4 or so. I saw him during Love Parade this last year and the set was similar, but he mixed it up pretty well. Too bad the evening was capped off by this.
Hard to actually have it sink in that someone was shot and killed in realtively extreme proximity to me. Add to that they fact that my friend Ryan was about 10 ft away from the guy when it happened (I was still up stairs) makes it even more scary. I actually really like 1015, it is one of the largest clubs in SF, but after this I am thinking I might have to send PVD a letter (like he might actually read it) and request that next time he is in SF he place somewhere like Ruby Skye or DNA Lounge. I really just don’t want to go back to 1015 any time soon.

  1. yeah, it was quite the evening. scary, but when it happened, i was more bewildered than anything. i’m thankful for many things, but i don’t often think to be thankful that i haven’t been shot. :P

most of the night after that was long periods of boredom, not moments of sheer terror, though. the police shut down the exits as soon as they got there and interviewed everyone, one at a time, before they left. slow process.
